WHO IS THIS ACTOR, WHO WAS LIVING WITH $150 A MONTH, AND NOW HAS A FARM WITH HIS FAMILY

The actor is a luminary in the film industry, clinching a Golden Globe for his performance in an HBO project. Prior to his television endeavors, he had never viewed any of his own performances.

During an interview, he reflected on his previous attitude towards television work, stating, “If my agent had called me and said, ‘I think you should do a series,’ I would have fired my agent…”

Thanks to his actress wife, he underwent a change of heart. He elaborated on his newfound appreciation for television work, citing the enjoyment of spending time with his wife on the sets of their joint projects and attending award ceremonies together.

Reflecting on his wife’s career, he remarked, “You know, when I started to see her film work, you know, she does one part, and then she does another part, and it’s like barely recognizable, and to me, that was what I had always envisioned being an actor was, to be able to put on these different hats and become different people.” He spoke of Meryl Streep as his inspiration.

The 65-year-old, renowned and charming actor in question is Kevin Bacon. Despite past struggles, he now revels in the joys of life alongside his wife.

In a recent interview with Kelly Clarkson, Bacon candidly discussed his past and how he’s come to terms with it.

In 1976, Bacon made the leap from Philadelphia, where he was raised, to New York City. Recalling earlier visits to New York with his sister, Bacon explained the transition.
Upon his arrival in New York, Bacon initially stayed with his sister. When he eventually found a place of his own, he had a mere $150 to sustain himself for a month.
“I had figured that it was $150… I don’t know where I got the math on that, but that’s…what I had decided…So I went into this—I saw an ad on the back of The Village Voice, and it said, ‘Artists, actors, musicians, residents.’…It was basically a flophouse, really…” he recounted.
For four years, he shared a space with a pianist in what was essentially a rental office, unable to afford a proper apartment. Despite the challenging circumstances, Bacon persevered and eventually found success as an actor, transforming his own life trajectory. Along the way, he crossed paths with Kyra Sedgwick, his wife of 35 years.
Their meeting took place in 1987 on the set of the movie “Lemon Sky.” Bacon was immediately smitten with Sedgwick, though the feeling wasn’t initially mutual.
After some persistence, they went on their first date, sharing a romantic dinner filled with laughter. Sedgwick later realized that Bacon was the one for her.
“We’ve always been each other’s biggest support and fans. A sense of humor is crucial. He is very freaking funny,” Sedgwick remarked.
The couple welcomed two children into the world, Travis and Sosie, who are now adults in their thirties.
Fatherhood held profound significance for Bacon, who expressed, “When I go home, I try to raise my children with honesty and integrity and teach them to take care of the world and of each other…”
