WHO IS THIS ACTOR, WHO WAS LIVING WITH $150 A MONTH, AND NOW HAS A FARM WITH HIS FAMILY
Thanks to his actress wife, he had a change of heart. He shared how he enjoyed spending time with her on the set of the show they both starred in and attending award ceremonies together.
“You know, when I started seeing her work in films, she would take on one role, and then completely transform into another character, almost unrecognizable. That’s what I always imagined being an actor was about—being able to wear different hats and embody different personas,” he remarked about Meryl Streep, citing her as a source of inspiration.
The actor we are referring to is the renowned and dashing 65-year-old Kevin Bacon. Though he once grappled with life’s challenges, he now relishes his time with his wife.
During a recent interview with Kelly Clarkson, Bacon reflected on his tendency to dwell on the past.
In 1976, Bacon made the move from his hometown of Philadelphia to New York City. He reminisced about visiting New York with his sister in earlier years, as he explained during the interview.
When Bacon relocated to New York, he initially stayed with his sister. Upon securing his own place, he found himself with only $150 to cover expenses for the month.
Reflecting on those early days, Bacon recounted, “What happened was, it was—I had figured that it was 150—I don’t know where I got the math on that, but that’s…what I had decided…So I went into this—I saw an ad on the back of The Village Voice, and it said, ‘Artists, actors, musicians, residents.’…It was basically a flophouse, really…”
For four years, he shared a space with a pianist in what served as a makeshift living arrangement, as he couldn’t afford a proper apartment. Despite the challenges, Bacon eventually found success in his acting career and underwent a transformation in his life journey. He then met and married his wife of 35 years, Kyra Sedgwick.
