The whole internet collaborated and couldn’t find what this is. I’m not sure what this is, ninety percent of people don’t know too…

Toy Clackers, also known as lik-Klaks, emerged as a sensation in the 1970s and remain cherished by numerous vintage toy enthusiasts today. Comprising two plastic balls tethered by a string, this toy produces a distinctive loud “clacking” noise when swung back and forth.

Debuting in 1969, Toy Clackers were the brainchild of the renowned toy company Wham-O, which also introduced iconic toys like the Hula Hoop, Frisbee, and Superball. The popularity of Toy Clackers soared, with over 10 million units sold by the company in the inaugural year alone.

The popularity of Toy Clackers eventually led to bans in many places due to safety concerns. Reports emerged of the plastic balls shattering, leading to flying debris that could potentially injure children. In response, the company developed a new version of the toy using safer materials, but it failed to capture the same level of popularity as the original.

Despite the safety issues and subsequent bans, Toy Clackers continue to hold a special place in the hearts of collectors and individuals who reminisce about playing with them during their youth. As a vintage toy, Toy Clackers evoke nostalgia for simpler times and still bring joy to those fortunate enough to possess a pair.
