Donna D’Errico had a powerful response to critics who suggested she was “too old” to don a bikini. The 54-year-old Baywatch icon had a clear message for those who deemed it inappropriate for her to flaunt her figure in swimwear at her age.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a photo of herself lounging in a light pink bikini. In the caption accompanying the picture, she wrote:

“Quite a few women expressed their discontent regarding the 4th of July video I shared, where I donned a red, white, and blue bikini. Some went as far as to suggest I’m ‘too old’ for bikinis and even labeled me as ‘desperate.’

Donna D’Errico wasted no time in responding to the criticism, concluding her post with a defiant statement: “So here I am in a bikini next to a coffee table.”

The former BattleBots host received an outpouring of support in the comments section, with one fan rallying behind her, stating, “Do whatever you want, dear! We love you! Women always attack other women and try hard to make them feel bad. You have no reason to feel disappointed.” Another echoed the sentiment, affirming, “Donna, you can wear and look absolutely phenomenal in a bikini. Don’t let those jealous ones bother you even a bit.”

D’Errico isn’t the only woman who has stood up to critics suggesting she’s too old for certain swimwear. Another Baywatch alum who exudes confidence in her own skin is Pamela Anderson. Meanwhile, in April, 57-year-old model Paulina Porizkova addressed the hateful comments she received on her own bikini photos on Instagram. Among them was the remark, “It must hurt so much to post bikini pictures at your age.”

In response, Porizkova eloquently articulated, “I get comments like these every time I post a picture of my body. Older men are distinguished, older women are ugly. People who think beauty equals youth don’t understand beauty.” She continued, “That’s why I believe we become more beautiful with age. We have earned beauty, we understand what it is, and we can see it much better. There is no such thing as ugly and old. Just nearsighted and ignorant.”
