Tom and I have been married for three years. Even before tying the knot, I had my two beloved dogs, Max and Bella, who’ve been with me through thick and thin. They’re more than just pets; they’re like my children, and Tom has always been aware of this deep bond. I’ve always assumed he shares the same affection for them as I do.

A month back, I had a two-week business trip lined up. “Don’t sweat it,” Tom reassured me, “I’ve got Max and Bella covered. You focus on acing your work.” His words eased my mind.
