Sharon Spink expressed her sentiments about her daughter, Charlotte, who has decided to no longer breastfeed, marking the end of an intimate chapter for them. Charlotte, who is nine years old, had been exclusively breastfed.
âWhen Charlotte was born, I made the choice to let weaning happen naturally. I believe it’s important for the child to be in control of this process rather than forcing it,â Sharon shared.
Sharon faced significant criticism for her decision to breastfeed her daughter until she was nine. She was unfairly accused of abuse and pedophilia, but she was determined to challenge the stereotypes associated with extended breastfeeding, a choice many mothers make.
She clarified, âThis year, Charlotte decided on her own to stop. It was a gradual process, and the decision was entirely hers. I breastfed her about once a month, or when she wasn’t feeling well and needed the comfort.â
