Farmers Were Amazed by the Unique Birth of Four Calves

Farmers in Northeast Texas were left in awe when one of their cows gave birth to not just one, not two, but four healthy calves. This remarkable occurrence took everyone by surprise, especially Jimmy Barling and his wife, Dora Rumsey-Barling, who own the cow. Residing outside of DeKalb near the borders of Arkansas and Oklahoma, the couple had never anticipated such an extraordinary event.

Seeking Confirmation Following the incredible birth, Jimmy Barling decided to conduct DNA testing to verify that all four calves were indeed offspring of the same mother. Among the quartet, three were male, while the fourth was a female. Rumsey-Barling’s granddaughter affectionately bestowed the names “Eeny, Meeny, Miny, and Moo” upon the adorable black calves.

An Unprecedented Event Local veterinarian Mike Baird characterized the birth as an “extremely rare” occurrence. He elaborated that the likelihood of a single cow giving birth to four healthy calves stands at a staggering 1 in 11.2 million. Knowing the family well, Baird expressed confidence that all four calves were sired by the same mother cow rather than multiple cows in the area.
