Catherine’s new role and the reason for public growing concern are in the comments below.

Princess Catherine received a new historical title from her father-in-law, King Charles III. However, her role caused a mixed reaction from the public, who called it a distraction from the events taking place outside the palace walls.

On April 23, King Charles III announced that the Princess of Wales would become a royal Knight of the Order of Companions of Honor. This was the first appointment for members of the royal family.

This prestigious appointment ranks her among an elite group recognized for significant contributions to various fields. Some of them include the arts, science, and public service.

The Order of Honorary Companions was established by King George V in 1917. This is an exclusive society, which includes 65 people at the same time. However, additional honorary members from outside the Commonwealth are allowed. Famous personalities in its ranks include Sir Elton John, Sir David Attenborough, Anna Wintour, Dame Maggie Smith, and Dame Judi Dench.
