Some have called King Charles’ most recent announcement a “slap in the face” to Prince Harry. What did he do to deserve this? ๐Ÿ˜ข Check comments ๐Ÿ‘‡

Prince William has been bestowed with a new title, and it’s certain to stir some interest.

Recently, King Charles III revealed that his eldest son would assume the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, despite the fact that it was Prince Harry who served with the unit in Afghanistan.

According to The Independent, if Harry hadn’t relinquished his royal responsibilities, the position, which his father had held for the past 31 years, would have been passed on to him.

Although both William and Harry are trained military pilots, it was Harry who served in the Army Air Corps during his second deployment to Afghanistan.

William, on the other hand, did not engage in active combat during his military tenure. However, he did serve as a search and rescue pilot and later as an air ambulance pilot.

“His Majesty the King will officially transfer the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. In August 2023, following His Majesty’s Accession, the King announced military appointments, including the Prince of Wales assuming the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. This position was previously held by His Majesty the King, as Prince of Wales, for 31 years,” stated Kensington Palace in a press release.

The announcement coincided with Harry’s arrival in the UK to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Amidst speculation, a spokesperson for the duke confirmed that Harry wouldn’t be meeting with his father due to the king’s demanding schedule.

“The duke understands his father’s full calendar of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to reunite with him soon.”

The last encounter between the two occurred in February when Harry hurried to the UK to be with his father for approximately 45 minutes after learning of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
