Princess Diana never-before-seen photographs

Princess Diana didn’t earn the title “The People’s Princess” merely because it sounded catchy. Rather, she became an integral figure for the British populace to admire and draw inspiration from due to her charitable endeavors and compassion. As she famously stated, her aspiration wasn’t to be the Queen in title, but rather the Queen in the hearts of the people.

Her passing resulted from a catastrophic accident in Paris, marking one of the most tragic events in contemporary British history. Princess Diana’s legacy endures to this day, not only through her sons William and Harry but most significantly, in the hearts of the people.

While numerous captivating Diana photographs have surfaced over the years, some have not garnered as much attention.

Princess Diana’s life was cut short at a young age, marked by numerous challenges and tribulations. Regrettably, she faced incessant scrutiny and encountered difficulties in her private life after entering the royal family.

Princess Diana assumed primary responsibility for raising Harry and William.

Despite the challenges she faced, Diana remained a devoted and caring mother. Her priority was always the well-being of William and Harry, striving to provide them with as normal a childhood as circumstances allowed.

Diana often took William and Harry to amusement parks and other enjoyable destinations, ensuring they experienced moments of joy amidst the constraints of royal life. She understood the expectations placed upon them as members of the royal family, including the provision of constant care and the need to uphold certain standards of behavior.

She also recognized the importance of allowing William and Harry the chance to experience life like any other children their age. With this in mind, she would discreetly take them out of the palace for fast food.

“I recall the princess entering the kitchen one day and announcing, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys, I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s,'” reminisced Diana’s former personal chef Darren McGrady in an interview with Marie Claire.

“I responded, ‘Your Royal Highness, I can do that, I can make burgers.’ ‘No, it’s the toy they want,’ she replied.”

Naturally, William and Harry cherished the time they spent with their mother. Diana raised them to embrace their childhood, allowing them to experience life like any other child in numerous aspects.

Diana always endeavored to be the best mother she could be, understanding that it was natural for siblings, including William and Harry, to have occasional disagreements and conflicts.

She wished for her sons to always be the closest of companions.

Royal historian Robert Lacey shared insights into Harry and William’s upbringing, revealing how their mother had a significant request for them. In his book “Battle of Brothers,” Lacey depicts the strong bond that William and Harry shared during their formative years. Princess Diana was resolute that their brotherly connection would endure a lifetime, and she urged the boys to make a solemn promise to always be each other’s “best friends.”

Lacey draws from the accounts of psychic Simone Simmons, a former consultant to Diana, in his book. According to Simmons, Diana implored her sons, “You must promise me that you will always be each other’s best friends, and never let anyone come between you.” Both boys reportedly vowed to uphold this promise, celebrating with a high-five and a tight embrace with their mother.

Simmons recalled the heartwarming scene, remarking, “Anybody would have melted at sight,” as they then headed out to play soccer.

From the outset, Diana made it clear that her role as a royal did not eclipse her dedication to her children, who remained her utmost priority. She endeavored to shield them from any potential rifts, even within the Royal Family itself, amid concerns that the Queen and Charles might seek to separate her from her children.

A statue honoring their mother was unveiled by William and Harry. Despite the heartfelt pledge the brothers made to Diana, their relationship has faced challenges, particularly since Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020.

However, the siblings came together a year ago, on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday, to reveal a new statue of their late mother at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden. The bronze sculpture, encircled by three children, stands as a poignant tribute to Diana’s enduring legacy.

In a joint statement, William and Harry reflected on their mother’s love, strength, and impact on the world, expressing their ongoing longing for her presence.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing, with William and Harry paying separate tributes to their mother. According to a royal source cited by People Magazine, William spent the day quietly with his wife, Kate Middleton, at Windsor.

As the anniversary on August 31 approached, Harry expressed his desire to honor his mother’s memory and make her proud.

“I want it to be a day filled with memories of her incredible work and the love she had for everyone,” Harry remarked on the anniversary. “I want it to be a day where we can share the spirit of my mum with my family, including my children, whom I wish could have had the chance to meet her. Each day, I strive to live in a way that would make her proud.”

Despite living a highly public life, Diana faced personal challenges like anyone else. One of the most significant issues she encountered involved her husband, then-Prince Charles.

Merely years after marrying Diana, Charles embarked on an affair with Camilla, who would later become his wife.

According to Prince Charles’ authorized biography, as quoted by Town & Country, their affair commenced in 1986 while Charles was still married to Princess Diana, who eventually learned about it.

In 1989, Diana confronted Camilla about the affair, urging her to step back.

“I know what’s going on between you and Charles, and I just want you to know that,” Diana reportedly told Camilla, as quoted by Town & Country.

“Diana said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world falling in love with you, and you’ve got two beautiful children; what more do you want?’” recounted Camilla.

“So I said, ‘I want my husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way, and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot,’” Diana said, according to Camilla.

At Diana’s funeral, Queen Elizabeth broke royal protocol.

From the public’s perspective, life appeared to continue as usual, but it wasn’t long before Charles and Diana’s fairytale marriage was history. In 1992, they announced their separation, though both continued with their official royal duties. Four years later, in August of 1996, they finalized their divorce.

As part of the settlement, Diana retained her apartment at Kensington Palace and her title “Princess of Wales.” However, she relinquished her title of “Royal Highness” and any future claim to the throne.

Diana’s sudden passing shocked the nation and the world. Her funeral, held on September 6, 1997, at Westminster Abbey, was followed by her burial at her family home of Althorp Park.

Princess Diana’s funeral drew over 2000 guests. Her coffin was carried through London after the ceremony, allowing the British people to bid their beloved Princess a final farewell.

Notably, Queen Elizabeth deviated from royal protocol at Diana’s funeral by bowing to the late Princess’s coffin as it passed her on a gun carriage. It was the only instance where Queen Elizabeth broke that royal custom.

Her sons, William and Harry, witnessed firsthand the relentless scrutiny their mother faced from the press. Harry expressed his desire to distance himself from the Royal Family, citing his mother’s treatment as a significant factor.

“Look what it did to my mum; how am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and a family when I know that it’s going to happen again,” Harry lamented. “I don’t want to be part of this.”
