“Toxic”: Candace Owens Sounds Off On Taylor Swift [WATCH]

During an event on Tuesday, February 13, Candace Owens, host of the Daily Wire podcast, made remarks about Taylor Swift, characterizing the liberal popstar as “the most toxic feminist that’s ever existed.” Owens shared her perspective during a “Backstage” gathering for DailyWire+ subscribers, where she engaged in conversation with Jeremey Boreing, Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles, and Matt Walsh.

Owens began by stating, “Clearly, if you’ve observed her conduct in business and how she attempts to manipulate her audiences to escape deals and contracts, she’s completely outlandish. She epitomizes the most toxic feminist behavior imaginable. Her modus operandi essentially entails the threat that if she doesn’t get her way, she writes a song about a guy and then broadcasts it to her 15 million-strong audience, dropping subtle hints… It’s utterly irrational…”

Describing the issue, Candace highlighted the concerning behavior of certain “Swiftie” fans who fervently defend Taylor Swift, suggesting, “And then there’s a group of around 10-year-old girls whose cognitive development isn’t complete, who then proceed to attack whoever they perceive as a threat.”

Illustrating this point, Candace elaborated, “For instance, Scooter Braun’s family had to go into hiding and hire security because Taylor Swift wanted to terminate her contract, but he legally acquired her music catalog.”

Expanding on the situation, she added, “She penned this, you have to search for it on Tumblr, this grandiose reinterpretation essentially stating ‘my father signed a contract, a legally binding agreement for me when I was 15. He now owns the catalog and he purchased it.’ And she portrayed it like, you know, as a woman, I sat down and composed these songs, and then they targeted Scooter Braun’s family unfairly, even though he had done nothing wrong. He only held the catalog for about six months before selling it to someone else, but she harbored resentment towards him…”

Following a discussion about Travis Kelce and his romantic history, Matt Walsh briefly interjected and humorously remarked that it’s difficult to claim Swift is the most detrimental feminist, hinting at the existence of others. He quipped, “She is terrible. I mean, suggesting she’s the worst feminist ever is quite a bold statement.”

Clarifying her viewpoint, Candace explained, “Toxic feminism manifests when individuals embody traits akin to Taylor Swift’s. This trend is emerging, she represents a new archetype. Yes, I’m actually writing a whole book on this phenomenon. It’s akin to the mindset propagated by Lena Dunham; she famously said Lena Dunham taught me feminism, which essentially implies that you can manipulate situations to your advantage by portraying yourself as a victim because of your gender.”
